Geocities is closing down on the 26 October 2009, and they're going to just delete everything on it. So if anyone has a site there, be sure to save a copy on your local hard drive.

I think these parts of fandom history are worth saving! There are several ways to keep the content on the web:

• Get an account on An Archive of our Own (where fandom owns the servers). It's the Geocities Rescue Project


• Move to Yahoo Web Hosting ($5 per month for the first year). This at least gives some time.


• Move to another free site


• See if it's in the wayback machine in Internet Archive (they have lots of geocities saved)


• Check with Archiveteam.org (a group of volunteers) which is saving all they can
