Holy 70's prom dress, Merlin!

OK, watched the first ep of Merlin with the kidlet. She runs out of the room when there's any dramatic tension, I close my eyes when there's embarrassment humor, but we kinda liked it.

Making Arthur a bully was a nifty twist, Guinevere is darling, Merlin is cute, in a ridiculously young way, and I could kinda get into the whole thing.

EXCEPT THE DAMN COSTUMES. Merlin's skinny jeans-and-jacket look, shiny polyester capes, the villaness's wasp-waist dress... The last straw was Morgans's feast dress, which just made me scream at it's disco wrongness:



Noooooo! Please, not the 70s, NOT AGAIN.

Hee! They never put Morgana in a dress like that again, thank goodness. I am, however, all for gratuitous Morgana cleavage.
